Celebi vs Ho Oh: Who Wins?

When it comes to a direct fight, the odds are stacked heavily in Ho-Oh's favor. As a Fire/Flying-type, its primary attacks deal quadruple super-effective damage to the Grass/Psychic-type Celebi. A single Sacred Fire or Brave Bird from Ho-Oh would likely be enough to decide the match instantly.

Beyond the devastating type matchup, Ho-Oh boasts incredible Special Defense, allowing it to easily withstand any special attacks Celebi might use. Its high Attack and Special Attack stats make it a versatile offensive threat that Celebi struggles to wall. Does this mean Celebi has no chance? Not necessarily, but its strategy would have to be flawless. Celebi's main advantage is its utility. With access to moves like Recover, Leech Seed, and Thunder Wave, it could attempt to stall and wear Ho-Oh down. Its ability, Natural Cure, is also a fantastic asset, healing any status condition like a burn from Sacred Fire upon switching out.

However, surviving Ho-Oh's onslaught long enough to set up this strategy is the real challenge. In a one-on-one scenario, Celebi is fighting a severely uphill battle.
